Booklist - 06/01/2025 Murray the cat just wants a quiet life full of naps, sunny spots, and the occasional sticky bun. But when his owner, the hapless wizard Fumblethumb, accidentally magics Murray’s last sticky bun into an actual bunny, the cat’s world gets a lot more interesting. The irrepressible Bun loves excitement most of all, a trait that comes in handy when Fumblethumb accidentally enchants the cat flap and sends the newly formed duo through a time portal that PA-POOFs them into a Viking hall. The worried Vikings have been waiting on the arrival of troll hunters to locate a missing community member, and the astonished animals find themselves on a quixotic quest that makes them fast friends and unlikely heroes. This bubbly British import is a charmer, and the lighthearted tone and shorter length make for a relaxed read. Playful illustrations are entertaining and energetic, with the spritely Bun pinging across pages and Viking longships stretching comically across multiple spreads.
