Booklist - 10/15/2024 Misha Dayaan’s family owns a magically delicious chai shop, and it’s Misha’s dream to add to their wonderful teas and apprentice with the great Wizard of Chai one day. Unfortunately, at the moment, her abilities fall short of her dreams. She has studied unsuccessfully at several schools and is currently headed to Margaret’s Academy of Tea and Brewing with the hopes that she will finally find success and a friend or two. From the get-go, Misha faces challenges with the other students and her teachers as she tries to figure out whom to trust and how to channel her abilities. The book is quickly paced with a variety of explosively enchanting adventures, and middle-grade readers who enjoy academic outcasts will be spellbound by the mystical properties of tea brewing. In the end, all mysteries are revealed, friends are found, and Misha realizes her own value. A sweetly satisfying romp, even for those readers who don’t drink tea.
