School Library Journal - 06/01/2026 Gr 2 Up—As soon as readers see the book's cover, featuring plenty of cute and weird creatures and the words "Featuring Thor?!" they will know that this is going to be an unusual and hilarious story. Spider-Man and his feathered friend Steve the pigeon are pulled into an adventure when Thor, who has been turned into a frog, asks for help. They go to the city of Asgard, where Spider-Man learns that after an attempted theft by the Enchantress, Odin's treasures as well as several key characters have been transformed and scattered across the Nine Realms. The search for the missing goods takes Spider-Man and his team on a journey, where he uses a bottomless bag of safekeeping for carrying objects and characters from place to place. Much of the humor in this story is in the discovery of the various transformations, like how Odin is now a radio, Heimdall is a key fob, and Volstagg is a batch of vanilla ice cream. The artwork is colorful, cute, and cartoony, and provides extra appeal to this laugh-out-loud story. This book is part of the "Mighty Marvel Team-Up" series, and while it's not necessary to have read the rest of the series to understand this story, readers who are new will be so entertained that they will want to seek out the previous titles. VERDICT A fun and zany story that will appeal to superhero fans, kids who love humor, and reluctant readers.—Andrea Lipinski - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
