In these latest installments, Betty faces her first babysitter, visits the dentist, enjoys a snow day, and tries to find her classroom's missing hamster. Despite her mythical nature, Betty's experiences are highly relatable for young readers. Each book features four short chapters with simple text, making them accessible for newly independent readers. Back matter includes a glossary and discussion and writing questions to promote reading comprehension. The bright, expressive illustrations effectively convey emotion and humor, adding depth to the stories.
