Booklist - 04/01/2025 Abeni is back as she attempts, once again, to thwart the plans of the Witch Priest. Abeni has freed the Children of the Night and is looking for her family when she and her friends are captured by Gold Weavers, people who are able to weave gold to do their bidding. As they are forced to work in the gold mines, Abeni discovers a plot to build a golden army for the Witch Priest to conquer more lands. Abeni, her spirit friends, and the haughty Gold Weaving princess, Ama, set out on a quest to find the Masks of Akani and save the Kingdom of Gold from the Witch Priest’s clutches. Readers will experience new lands, cultures, and stories that intertwine with the events of the previous book. Abeni and her companions all experience character growth as they discover new things about the Witch Priest and their homelands.
