Full Text Reviews:

School Library Journal - 04/01/2026 Gr 4–6—This series focuses on college basketball with an emphasis on the history and impact of March Madness. Each volume examines teams, players, coaches, and major events, presenting the sport through a chronological lens that begins in the 1970s and and moves through the 2020s. The writing is dense and presented largely in long paragraphs, making these books best suited for dedicated sports fans who enjoy detailed explanations and extensive statistics. Data and historical context are central to the text, with statistics appearing frequently throughout. Text boxes and colorful graphics help break up the pages, and photographs appear on approximately every other spread, with visuals playing a supporting role rather than driving the layout. Each book includes a table of contents, a glossary, a "More Information" section, a list of online resources, and an index. VERDICT These titles will appeal to die-hard basketball fans but are likely a secondary choice for readers who prefer more visually driven sports books. - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
