Booklist - 10/01/2025 Captain Herman has been sailing the seas for a long time, which makes him confident he'll find his rubbery pal Moby Duck in no time, even as the frightful landscape of the bathtub keeps putting dangerous obstacles in his path. With a nod to the classic novel primarily through word play (Captain Herman, unlike Ahab, is on a journey of friendship rather than revenge), Moby Duck is a simple portrait of how imagination can make bath time a lot more fun. Bold, sharp artwork cleverly combines bath time imagery—soapsuds, a faucet—with imaginative, cinematic ocean vistas and underwater perspectives. With a simple story and a short length, this could easily be a bath time read, possibly used to distract more active bath time players from leaving the bathroom as stormy as Captain Herman does. Moby Duck will immerse young readers in a story of maritime adventure while still reminding them they have the tools to create their own seafaring stories. - Copyright 2025 Booklist.
