School Library Journal - 10/17/2025 K-Gr 2—In this story, a family prepares for a fun pajama party, complete with dancing, games, and camping out in the living room. Eight-time Grammy winner Marley lyrically riffs off the text from one of his father's (Bob Marley) songs, "Jamming," to propel the action. The family, which includes four kids, a mom, a dad, and a dog, are all depicted with stylish detail—yes, even the dog—in illustrations that are ebullient and colorful. The spreads are filled with whimsical touches that enhance the narrative, such as an image of a hieroglyphic tablet that portrays a family pajama party, implying the tradition goes back to ancient civilizations. Even though it's paired with joyful art, the text is just not substantial enough to carry a picture book. VERDICT Not essential.—Chance Lee Joyner - Copyright 2025 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
