Booklist - 09/01/2025 In a world where everything is recorded, Millie makes the mistake of lying about her first kiss. The video is shared across the entire ninth grade, and Millie just knows that everyone can see her story is made up. Luckily, her best friend, Hannah, is there to launch Operation Chasing Caleb to help Millie get her real first kiss from Caleb Pilakowski. The first step in the plan is getting one-on-one time with Caleb, which means joining the track team. As much as Millie wants to be a distance runner like Caleb, she finds a new event she's good at—300-meter hurdles. In order to improve her running times, Millie does extra workouts with fellow hurdler Logan. Her feelings toward both boys develop, all while she is forced to sift through her complicated relationship with her mom; Millie caught her mom cheating on her dad and hasn’t spoken to her since.
