School Library Journal - 04/01/2026 Gr 5–8—These titles continue the quality of information from previous sets, introducing readers to flying and landbound species. Grouped together with explanations for novices, species are highlighted with textual and visual information to make easy identifications in the wild. These species entries include common names, scientific names, living ranges, and photographs from afar and up close. The design allows readers to see the natural world and identify species upon encountering them. The Spiders volume in particular demonstrates a commitment to high-interest content and safety that makes these such good resources. VERDICT Valuable additions to this series that examines the beautiful and safe aspects of exploring the wild. These titles would be at home in most libraries. - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
