Booklist - 01/01/2026 Beverley the bat knows just how to make guests feel at home in her gloomy manor house. After all, she's done the research into hospitality, and she knows what would make her feel welcome. But when a group of humans finally comes knocking on her door, she quickly discovers that what she finds inviting isn't exactly what makes her guests feel relaxed. This is a charming comedy of miscommunication, with every misstep from our adorable protagonist completely understandable from her point of view. The illustrations have a collage-like feel that gives each spread a homey feel, with plenty of background details to add character to the setting. Perfect for fans of the Amelia Bedelia series, this is sure to amuse young readers while ultimately reminding them that even a parade of mistakes can have a happy ending. - Copyright 2026 Booklist.
