Booklist - 01/01/2026 If you’ve been waiting your whole life for a picture book focused on opposites and starring French bulldogs (aka Frenchies), look no further. Adorable bat-eared Frenchies frolic through a park in pursuit of a dog-treat truck, and along the way, the dogs go “under” and “over,” look to the “left” and “right,” and introduce other opposite terms, which appear in bold, throughout the book in rhyming text. Some additional explanation may be required in this quasi-nonfiction tale; it’s not at all clear that the “doggy ice cream treats” are not human ice cream, for instance. An author’s note at the end describes different varieties of Frenchies and introduces dog-treat trucks and the two Frenchies (Latto and Dino) who ride along in one. Somewhat puzzling is a note that Frenchies don’t usually swim and should wear a life jacket if near water. This is the third title in the Woofing, Wagging Concept Book series; add where the other titles are popular. - Copyright 2026 Booklist.
